Balboa Park is located in south central San Francisco and consists primarily of three major thoroughfares: Ocean, Geneva and San Jose Avenues. These contain an eclectic mix of commercial and residential buildings, which in turn reflect the diversity of this community. In addition to this, the area also includes a number of landmark buildings and landscape elements including City College of San Francisco and the recreational area, Balboa Park, from which the area derives its name.
