The Prahran Town Hall is a centre of community life in Stonnington and has been an integral part of the Chapel Street and Greville Street shopping centres for close to 150 years. The complex, built in stages from 1861, also includes the architecturally and historically significant former Prahran Court House and former Prahran Volunteer Fire Brigade Station in Macquarie Street.
The Prahran Town Hall Conservation Management Plan was prepared in association with Robert Sands Architects Pty Ltd and the purpose of this study is to provide guidance to the owners of the complex, the City of Stonnington, on the conservation, future use and management of these heritage buildings.
